Learning Through Art

As we believe that access to the arts is crucial to student-learning, Elysian Heights Arts Magnet launched a school-wide visual arts program in the fall of 2016.

Our students access the arts both in and out of the classroom. We want our students to see themselves as artists, and we do this by providing a variety of materials to explore with daily. Art areas are created in classrooms to give students autonomy, while providing a space to empower them to in their learning.

Art is not only integrated into our classrooms through accessible materials and intentional curriculum, but are also given as additional classes to enrich students' educational experiences. Throughout the year, our artistic curriculum focuses on a diverse variety of artistic experiences, including a variety materials and techniques.
